Jan Bentley at Colorado River Pottery, Yuma, AZColorado River Pottery Studio and Gallery
Beautiful Functional Stoneware Pottery by local Yuma Arizona Artist - Jan Bentley.

Pottery is a welcome alternative to today's mass-produced and impersonal products. Enjoy the tactile and visual effects - food tastes, and looks better when it's served on handmade pottery. At Colorado River Pottery, one may find local Yuma artist Jan Bentley literally 'up to her elbows' creating various pieces in the working studio that adjoins her gallery. Using a combination of centuries-old techniques and modern technology, each piece is hand-formed, then trimmed and dried, and then fired to about 1850 degrees in an electric kiln. The piece is then glazed and set out to dry, and then fired in a gas kiln.

The gallery area features a beautiful collection of Jan's functional stoneware pottery including mugs, bowls, baking dishes, serving pieces, dinnerware, address tiles, vases, architectural ceramics and decorative objects. She also welcomes custom orders including custom dinnerware, baby sets, anniversary or wedding gifts, birthday gifts and more.
Lasting for years, stoneware pottery is non-toxic, and is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.
