Wrightwood, California
About Wrightwood
Wrightwood is a situated in a
valley in the east end of the San Gabriel mountains at an elevation of
6000 feet. With a history of Indians, Mormons, cattle ranching and apple
farming; this small, lively community has now become a mountain getaway
for those seeking quaint shops, beautiful scenery, snow sports, camping
and general relaxation.
Majestic pines, ancient oaks,
no traffic lights and four seasons of mountain beauty make Wrightwood the
perfect place for families, couples and those seeking quiet and solitude.
Spring heralds the flower season; tulips and lilacs in town and
wildflowers in the wilderness areas; summer is mild and balmy, perfect for
hiking and biking; fall brings the bright splash of reds, yellows and gold
of changing leaves; and winter brings the snow season...with over 400
acres of skiing and snowboarding areas. The streets are lines with
specialty shopping, friendly merchants, and people having fun. There are
B&B's, motels, cabin rentals, and cottages from which to choose, and two
ski resorts to enjoy.
Beautiful views of the desert
from high above, beautiful evergreen forests, sunny most of the year, free
of smog, traffic, and the stress of everyday life... just 90 minutes from
Los Angeles... without the usual twisting, mountain passes to tackle.
