Special Meanings & Beliefs of the
Flowers Used in your Wedding...
Decorating the bride with flowers was a custom
that began in Europe with the Crusaders, who believed that a wreath of Orange
Blossoms crowning the bride attributed to fertility. During the
Elizabethan times, Garland was used.
Though there are still wedding 'favorites', today
we use a wide assortment of flowers in a wedding depending on factors
such as: color, price, style, theme, season and availability, and even special
meanings.
Some of the traditional favorites that are
chosen for their meaning include:
Apple Blossoms for good fortune
Blue Violets for faithfulness
Carnations for distinction
Forget-me-nots for true love
Lilies for purity and innocence
Lily of the Valley for happiness
White daisies for innocence.
