Featuring a blend of various musical styles, tastefully put
together into a rich stew of tunes to entertain anyone with
ears, Grooveyard has just released their debut album ‘Place
in Time’
Grooveyard is an evolution of many things; of creativity and
life and music and freedom. Mostly it's about a group of
people who enjoy getting together and making music that
blends various musical styles, tastefully put together into
a rich stew of tunes to entertain anyone with ears. With
heavy emphasis on the rhythm section and sprinkled with
percussion, the band presents music in a fresh and
invigorating way ensuring each performance is one of a kind.
Their inspiring lyrical content has something to say - and
quite often with humor!

Dave
Brummet, grooveyard’s percussionist, is a 25-year veteran
drummer and percussionist, and has played drums/percussion
on stage and in the studio for over 20 years, and brings
this knowledge and experience to his Hand Drum Workshops.
With rhythms from African, Middle Eastern and Latin American
roots, the workshops are well designed for djembes, doumbeks,
and congas, for beginners or intermediates. He has also put
together a home-learning CD. Dave and his wife Lillian work
together to manufacture Drum-it djembes and talking drums
from non-hardwood alternatives. The djembes are of a
hemp/fiberglass composite innovated by Drum-it Percussion.
The talking drums are constructed of PVC plastics. All of
their drums use traditional African methods of rope
tensioning and quality goatskin heads.
Dave Brummet was a featured guest on SouthwestBlend.com’s online radio show ‘Champagne Sunday’s’,
which aired live on Sunday, June 29th, from
11am-1pm, Pacific Time.
