History In Sports
From
the very first Olympic Games held in ancient Greece,
women were excluded--so they put together their own
games, the Games of Hera, to honor the Greek goddess who
ruled over women and earth.
February 3 is
National Girls and Women in Sports Day and celebrates
the passing into law in America, the guarantee that
school programs will be gender equally funded, including
athletics. Women have entered sports and excelled in
individual and team sports of all kinds. To honor our
sportswomen, especially those that made history, see if you can match the descriptive
