Known by many as the greatest
American humorist of his age and the father of American
literature, Mark Twain had a keen wit laced with satire. He was an
amazingly prolific writer, turning out novels, newspaper
articles, literary reviews, and essays. He was popular but also
made enemies due to his outspoken and blunt honesty, especially
when talking about politics. He was a fierce abolitionist,
revolutionist, and anti-imperialist as well as a much sought
after public speaker. His most popular works include Adventures
of Huckleberry Finn, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The
Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and A Connecticut
Yankee in King Arthur's Court.
