About
Bullhead City, AZ
Bullhead City is
located in west central Mohave County, east of the Colorado River, near
the juncture of Arizona, Nevada, and California. It is the sister city
to Laughlin, Nevada, and is just 90 minutes from Las Vegas, Nevada. It
began as the headquarters of the construction of the Davis Dam and Lake
Mohave, and today, the city together with Laughlin attracts over 6
million tourists per year. Laughlin’s 11 major casinos employ over
14,000 people who mostly live in Bullhead City, the Arizona side of the
Colorado River. The river along with the Lake Mead National Recreational
Area (including Lake Mohave), offer a multitude of year round water
related activities mostly on the 67 mile long Lake Mohave. Visitors can
enjoy camping, fishing, houseboats, jet-skiing, and swimming. Just south
of Bullhead City is the Havasu Natural Wildlife Refuge Area, boasting
fishing, water fowl, and many other bird species to see.
